Privacy Policy for Bike Trackr
Effective Date: March 03, 2026
Bike Trackr is designed with privacy in mind. Your ride data, location, and health metrics (like weight and calories) are strictly stored locally on your device. We do not maintain servers to collect this data. However, we do use third-party services (like Google AdMob for ads and map providers for rendering maps) which may collect basic device and usage information.
Digital Lobby (“we”, “us”, or “our”) built the Bike Trackr app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Digital Lobby at no cost (with in-app purchases available) and is intended for use “as is”.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
1. Information Collection and Use
To provide a great cycling experience, the app requires certain permissions and collects specific data. However, this data is kept securely on your device and is NOT transmitted to or stored on our servers.
a. Location Data (GPS)
Bike Trackr requires background location access to track your speed, altitude, heading, and route path via GPS while you ride. This data is essential for the app’s core functionality. All location routing and history data are stored locally on your device using local databases. We do not upload your location data to any remote servers.
b. Health and Fitness Data
You may optionally input your body weight to calculate estimated calories burned. Your weight, calorie metrics, and telemetry data are stored strictly on your device.
c. Sensor Data
The app accesses your device’s accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass to provide real-time, attitude (pitch and roll), and heading metrics. This data is processed in real-time and is not externally transmitted.
2. Third-Party Services
Even though we do not collect your personal data directly, the app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, serve ads, or provide map tiles.
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements to free users. AdMob may collect and use your device advertising ID, IP address, and interaction data to provide personalized ads. Google policies apply.
- Map Providers (OpenStreetMap / Carto): To render the interactive maps, the app requests map “tiles” directly from providers like OpenStreetMap. Your IP address may be exposed to these servers when downloading map images on the go.
- In-App Purchases (Google Play / Apple App Store): If you choose to upgrade to premium or remove ads, your payment is processed securely by Apple or Google. We do not have access to your credit card or billing information.
3. Security
We value your trust in providing us your information. We restrict the app to operate offline as much as possible, securing your ride history within your device’s encrypted storage sandbox. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
4. Children’s Privacy
The Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Because all primary ride data is stored locally on the device, we do not receive or process children’s data on our end.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
